The Outlawz Sunday Song & Rhyme: The Butterfly

When, within our souls and psyches we are made aware of a safe but insistent drum beat, repeated like butterfly wings in motion, we sense the message...that our inner self has begun its search for freedom. --  Mary Meeker

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing my card for the new Sunday Song & Rhyme challenge which is currently running at The Outlawz Challenges through June 1st

Our sponsor this month is Anne's Digital Art
Prize: 5 Images

Our challenge this fortnight is to find inspiration in any of the lyrics/words to the Song or Rhyme:
The Butterfly by Heather ReneƩ Adamkiewicz

As love falls down from the sky, It lands on the wings of a butterfly.
The butterfly sings its songs and rhymes, and flies through the air, no concept of time.
It is the messenger of patience and change, from flower to flower, it's odd and it's strange.
The butterfly can transform its world.
And give way to new beginnings, unfurled, it is the keeper of transformation, and flies on faith and imagination.
The butterfly as no fear of change, it bravely escapes its homemade cage.
To change, it knows is necessary, for all the burdens we need not carry.
The butterfly soars, and merrily sings, For, without change, it could never grow wings.

I use the smoosh technique for this card to create the red & blue background

Supplies:
  • Black Embossing powder from Stampin Up!
  • Canson cold press water color paper
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base) and Stampin Up!
  • Faber-Castel gel crayons
  • India Ink from Memories
  • Sentiment from Unity Stamp Company
  • Swallowtail Butterfly from Stampin Up!
