Bright and Sunny Days...

If we tarry a little while, we shall behold a sunset on the ocean,—a sight worth traversing a kingdom to see. How finely the sands glow in the amber light, what a beautiful purple gleams on the crests of the tiny waves! The colours have changed as if by the moving of a fairy wand—a happy union of fire and its great antagonist. ~Henry James Slack (1818–1896), The Ministry of the Beautiful, "Conversation II: Footsteps on the Sand," 1850

Good evening ...

The color Green ...

The colour with which nature has tinted the background of all her pictures, green, is the most suitable ground for other colours. It unites wonderfully well with the yellow and blue which have produced it; it heightens red, and there is no flower or ripe fruit which it does not set off to greater advantage.... it is both gay and modest, bright and tender. Green can only awaken amiable and gentle thoughts, remembrances gracious as those of spring, and other promises of nature: green gives repose to the mind, as it does to the sight. ~Charles Blanc, Art in Ornament and Dress, "Personal Adornment: Colours and Their Expression," 1875, translated from French

Good morning!

Hello ...

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness. ~Robertson Davies

Good Morning

Hello Friend ...

We are keenly aware of the faults of our friends, but if they like us enough it doesn’t matter. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic’s Notebook, 1960

Good morning!
I hope all of you are doing well. Seems Mother Nature can't make up her mind or just needs a glass of really good wine. We are swinging from hot to cool to warm to .. ??? and lots of wind. I know other areas are experiencing the same thing or rain ... lots and lots of rain. So stay safe where ever you are!

Today is the start of a new Anything Goes Challenge at Through the Craft Room Door. Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs with a lovely prize of  3 digital images from their store.

I am using thus digi image Summer Breeze  which I colored with alcohol markers. I am practicing the highlighting of images with water color ... not super happy with this one but not super unhappy either. I know it's something that has to be done over and over again to know the right amount of color vs water.

Image Summer Breeze from Crafty Sentiments Designs

Card Stock from  The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!
Glitter Glue from Studio G

Beauty Unites ...

Beauty unites all things, links together flower and star, with chains more certain than those of reason. The poet, the artist, thus finds the clue which guides them in their pilgrimage throughout the world. ~Henry James Slack (1818–1896), The Ministry of the Beautiful, 1850

I'm late - I'm late - I'm late
It's been one of those days from the start and matters were made worse when my laptop decided to end its life after I cleaned the cooling fans ... (sigh) ... after much nail biting, I managed to get my system backed up and then my son took over and worked his magic and was able talk my little lappy off the ledge. Then I had to get my card finished because, well, I got my image colored, set it aside and promptly forgot about anything important I was supposed to do with it.
So on THAT note!
Today, Deonna kicked off a new Anything goes challenge at Through the Craft Room Door. Our sponsor this week with a wonderful prize of a $10.00 store voucher is from DigiStamps4Joy!

I am using this awesome image Phantasi & created by the talented Jenlee which I colored, fussy cut and added to my card with foam strips.

Branches embossing folder from Sizzix
Cardstock from The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!

Color my World ...

Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up. ~Allen Klein
