CAS Anything Goes!

They say that age is all in your mind. The trick is keeping it from creeping down into your body.
Author Unknown

Good morning my crafty peeps!
Not only am I tardy getting this posted but I have been pretty much AWOL from my blog for a bit. But very little crafting has been taking place for me these past weeks! It hasn't been intentional. January is always a hectic month for our household as we try to reestablish routines disrupted by the holiday schedule.

I finally sat down last night and wrote myself a daily routine list - It was something I really needed to do as I seem to be running around each day trying to fit everything in, only to hit that point of the day when I have to stop. Then I look around and wonder what the heck I did with all my time because my to do list does not appear to be any shorter than when I started!

The perpetual spinning of wheels in the mud bog. Lots of energy being expended but no forward momentum.

Add to this - my mojo decided  to head south for vacation too so I have been trying to track it down and drag it back home where it belongs!

I am actually not scheduled for this week at the Outlawz, but this is the last post for my dear CAS Sistah Charlene as she is headed off on a new adventure, both personally and artistically and I wish her much luck in this new endeavor.

Click HERE to visit her blog Crystaldolphin's Blog. You won't be disappointed!

We also have had a few other changes, one of which is the addition of a monthly prize specially for our CAS Challenge.

Our Sponsor
Anonymous Donor
Is offering a $10 gift card to a store of choice for the winner this month!
Thank you so much Anonymous Donor for sponsoring our first ever CAS prize!

So this week the challenge at The Outlawz is Anything Goes which is perfect because I needed a fast birthday card for a co worker birthday.
This is simple CAS with no layers, direct to cs stamping with the imaged colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.

SUPPLIES
Card stock from The Paper Studio
Black India Ink from Memories
Watercolor pencils from Staedtler
Blender pen from Stamping Up!
Image "Leaves & Branches" from Martha Stewart
Sentiment from Hampton Art
Dots from Stamps by Judith

Thanks for stopping by by blog and don't forget to stop by The Outlawz to play along with us this week!

It's just a Number

A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike.
And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless.
We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.

-- John Steinbeck --

Good morning
I am horribly late with this post as, to be honest, I was just being too lazy to set it up! I image we all have those days! LOL.

Anyway, the new CAS challenge at The Outlawz is using numbers on your card or project. Actually the number is supposed to be the focal point but I didn't really catch that until just now and my fellow teamies were sweet enough not to point that out!

So as Cheri says, thinks 25th Anniversary, 16th Birthdays, etc. Whatever you choose, just keep it CAS!

My card was made with a dear friend in mind who celebrates a birthday this year.
She is like a 2nd mom to me and I want her to know that no matter her age, it is who she is that has importance in my life!

SUPPLIES
Card stock from The paper Studio
DP from The Angel Company
EF "Number Collage" from Cuttlebug
Flower die from Sizzix
Sentiment and Die "Varsity Champs" from Sizzix
India Ink from Memories

Washi Wishes!

The merry year is born
Like the bright berry from the naked thorn.
- Hartley Coleridge -

Happy New Year my Crafty Peeps!
I hope that 2015 is starting off awesomely for you all.
I will admit though that I am looking forward to getting back into some semblance of a routine after the hustle and bustle of the Holidays! To much unhealthy food and sleeping in late is taking it's toll on me!

I do try to not make New Year Resolutions, at least not unrealistic ones like being a size 8 by summer or learning a new language by October! The main reason is simply because I wind up feeling guilty and disappointed if I don't meet the expectations I set for myself.

So I set small goals, like getting up a little earlier than normal to re-start my work out program which always seems to go into hibernation during the Holidays! Weight loss and being fit is just a side benefit at this point.

Making better food choices - in this case, it's back to an almost Paleo diet for my husband and myself. We did it once before and felt amazing ... not sure why we stopped to be honest.

This year is also going to have decluttering added (in small bites) to the mix. Since we are talking about downsizing might as well start now and get rid of the stuff that I am so tired of dusting!

I hope, that whatever good and healthy path you choose that you are successful!

Today is another Clean and Simple Challenge at The Outlawz!
Such a popular craft item these days, Washi tape is used on everything from cards to cell phone covers!  Our challenge for you this week is to use Washi Tape on your card or project. Just keep it CAS!

Here is my card! Interesting enough though, Washi tape is not something that I have embraced. Not sure why. In fact, the only reason why I have the tape used here is that I purchased it while in Jaen thinking I would use on a Christmas card (which never happened!)

Supplies:
Card Stock from The Paper Studio
Sentiment from Stampin Up! (Set unknown)
Washi tape was purchased in Japan - mfgr unknown
DP from my scrap bin
India Ink from Memories

Do come play along with us!
