Outlawz Clean & Simple Challenge: Get Well

The best six doctors anywhere, and no one can deny it are
sunshine, water, rest, and air, exercise and diet.

These six will gladly you attend if only you are willing your mind they'll ease, your will they'll mend and charge you not a shilling.

~Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows, 1990

Good morning One and All!
Today is the start of another Clean and Simple Challenge over at The Outlawz!

Today is National Doctors' Day in the US, commemorating the nation's doctors who have dedicated themselves to public service by helping to ensure the good health of its citizens.
Your challenge this week is to create a CAS "Get Well" card or project!

My card was made using an adorable little mouse image from Stampendous. Just love this little guy and he's easy to color or paper piece as I did the band-aid here. I also stamped and cut the image from copy paper to use as a covering stencil so I could sponge around him for the sky and grass

SIZE: A2
SUPPLIES
Card stock from Stampin Up! & Bazzill
Sentiment from Halo Rubber Stamps
Muzzy the mouse from Great Impressions

Outlawz Clean & Simple Challenge: You're so "Frame-ous"!

“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.”
~ Carl Jung

Good morning!
Today is the start of another Clean and Simple Challenge at the The Outlawz.
This week your challenge is to create a CAS card or project using a frame.
You can doodle it, stamp it, die cut it. You can use it as your focal point or as a design element ... just remember to keep it CAS!

I do not use pre-colored or pre-cut images. Not that I think there is anything wrong with it, just that it's not something I do. Weird right? However, last year I got this, and another frame in a packet I received at a crop I attended last year. Since these are not something I normally use, I had set them aside to send to my niece, but never got around to it.
Glad now that I had them still as this work wonderfully for this challenge!

I did fussy cut around the edge of the flowers for more detail and added bits-o-bling to the flowers for some extra sparkle. The larger flowers are added to the card on foam dimensional's. (note: I colored the yellow rhinestones with a sharpie)

Size: 5 x 7
SUPPLIES:
Card stock from Stampin Up!
Frame & Flower from Oscrap! "White/Yellow Daisy"
Sentiment from Halo Rubber Stamps
Rhinestones from my stash
Yellow Sharpie
Foam dimensional's
Memories India Ink

Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes Challenge!

Thought for the Day

“Sometimes walking away has nothing do with weakness, and everything to do with strength.
We walk away not because we want others to realize our worth and value, but because we finally realize our own.”

The Outlawz CAS Challenge: Retro

“Spread love everywhere you go.
Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
Mother Teresa
(1910-1997)

Good morning!
I hope you all had a fantastic week and weekend. Yesterday I spent the day with friends at the Renaissance Festival. Theresa has never been to one so this was a first time event for her. It was fun to watch her excitement at everything. Really added to the day!
The company and weather was perfect. The only missing was my husband since he had to work. :O(

Here's a couple pictures from the day ... More (maybe) to come!

I loved this Butterfly Bench. very comfortable to sit in. Sure wish I had space in my backyard for something like to this to actually look good.
Some day...
Some day...

Nothing like a beautiful day, a Hot Turkey Leg and an ice cold Guinness ... YUM!

My Friend Theresa and I hamming it up for her husband. Awesome day! and so looking forward to next years event!

So onto the real reason for this post! Today is the start of a new Clean and Simple challenge over at The Outlawz.

Cheri has chosen for you a fabulous challenge that will make you work it! She wants something from the 1940's, 50's, 60's, 70's....music, fashion, vehicles, colors, art, people, (Howdy Doody, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis)...anything retro goes as long as it's CAS".

So come on my friends - put those creative thinking caps on and come play along with us this week!

Here is my Card:

Not sure if anyone remembers the spin tops, where you had to push down on a twisted metal rod to make them spin. (Loved those as child) ... Anyway - that's my take ... a Retro Toy. I used pieces of scrap DP and a picture to piece this together.

I thought this bit of lyric from "You Spin Me Right Round" from the band Dead or Alive worked. Although anyone who knows the song will know he's talking about a record and that it's from the 80's".

My husband has to leave town for several days on business and I slipped this into his overnight bag.

SIZE: 5 x 7
SUPPLIES
Card stock: (Base) unknown, American Craft & Stampin Up!
Sentiment: Computer generated
DP: scrap bin ... anything from Stampin Up!, The Angel Company, DCWV and who knows!

Lucky Little Ladybug

Springtime is the land awakening.
The March winds are the morning yawn.
Quoted by Lewis Grizzard inKathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You

Good Morning!
Spring is right around the corner.
March 20th to be exact!

Such bizarre weather this winter season.
Unseasonably hot or cold depending on the region.
Record snow or rain fall.
Living where I do, we don't deal with snow, but it does get cold so I'm ready for the smell of fresh cut green grass and the bright splashes of pretty flowers! Spring for us is such a short time period where we can shake off the sloth of winter, enjoy the outdoors without the fear of heat stroke and mentally prepare ourselves for the hot Summer months to come. :O)

Today is my turn to post the new Clean and Simple Challenge for the Outlawz.

Here is Arizona, a slight chill is still in the air, but if you pay attention, it is Spring!
I love to see Ladybugs, those little black and red harbingers of Spring flitting around.
This week we want you to show us your lovely lady bugs!
all colors, all sizes - just keep it CAS!

Come on by to see what the rest of the DT have done!

Here is my card for the challenge!
