Bright and Cheery Hello ...

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world. ~L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Good morning!
Today I am sharing a card that I put together at a crop I attended using pieces I had in my project book. The flowers had already been stamped and layered onto black cardstock. In the pocket was the yellow piece of cardstock already embossed so I just did a little color matching for the flowers and this is what I came up with. A bright and cheery card.

Supplies: 4.25 x 5.50 (A2)
  • Archival Ink from Rangers
  • Cardstock from my scrap bin
  • Embossing folder from The Paper Studio (Lines & Dots, I think) and Stampin Up! (Tasteful Textures)

Another birthday card ...

...the only possible good in the universe is happiness. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to try and make somebody else so. ~Robert G. Ingersoll, 1888

Good morning!
Here I am to share two more cards I made from scraps left from an old Close to My Heart Design Paper set called Fanfare. The card is based on a sketch I found on Pinterest but since it was created during a crop event, I wrote everything down but now can’t find it so I don’t remember the creator of the layout.

Supplies: 5 x 7 cards
  • Banner punch from Stampin Up!
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base) & Stampin Up!
  • Design paper & brad from Close to My Heart (Fanfare)

Flattery will get you somewhere ...

Flattery is to conversation what the kiss is to lovemaking: of the least value, but valued the most. ~"Poor Richard Junior's Philosophy," The Saturday Evening Post, 1906, George Horace Lorimer, editor

Good morning!
Here I am to share a set of cards I made using a layout from Call my Crafty Al! I believe this one is called a mini slimline and it was so quick and easy to make! This particular uses 6 x 6 sheets of design paper and makes 6 cards.

The design paper I used only had one side printed but double side design paper gives you more design choices when making your cards.

Another great thing about this size card is that you use a basic letter size envelope (3-5/6" x 6-1/2") so no purchasing or making specialty envelopes. Unless, of course, you want too.

Supplies: Mini slimline 6.25 x 3.25
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base)
  • Design Paper from American Craft
  • Die from Stampin Up! (Floral Flourishes)
  • Rhinestones from my Stash
  • Sentiment from Close to My Heart (Tickled Pink)
  • Sketch from Call me Crafty Al Sheet load of cards, #SUYSapr2022, #showusyoursheetload

Happiness is excitement that has found a settling down place, but there is always a little corner that keeps flapping around. ~E. L. Konigsburg, From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, 1967

Today I am sharing a set of cards I made. I normally don’t make cards with black bases but I really like the way these turned out!

First mini slimlines ...

Good morning!
Today I am sharing a set of cards I made using a Sheetload of cards layout from Call me Crafty Al. I love her layouts as it really encourages me to use all that design paper I have hanging around. They are also great for when I go to crops as I can gather up everything I will need based on her supply list … then I’m not hauling extra stuff just because.

This particular set is the first set of mini slimlines I've ever made. Very cute and compact!

Supplies: Mini Slimline, 3.25 x 6.25
  • Cardstock from Stampin Up!
  • Design paper from FDC (Wildflower)

Quails are cute ...

It's not about finding fun things to do. It's about finding someone in whose company, it's all fun. ~Robert Brault, rbrault.blogspot.com, 2018

Good morning!
Sharing a card that I made with cute quails. I bought the set because they reminded me of my grandmother who loved quails and would watch them in the morning sitting on her porch having her morning coffee. I finally got around to using the set.

WIth the exception of the base, the card was made with left over paper from another project and the flowers were fussy cut from a piece of scrap design paper.

Supplies: 5 x 7 cards
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio (Base)
  • Design paper from Fancy House Designs
  • Ink from Palette
  • Stamp set from Close to My Heart (Flock Together)

Today I am sharing the last of the cards made with the toppers …

Just a note ...

Birthdays! What music in the world! In these unresting times, when nothing intellectual, economic, social, political, seems stable; when customs and traditions hoary with age are mixed with explosive elements, this oldest of institutions is not in danger of yielding to destructive forces. ~J.R. Macduff, Birthdays, 1893

Thinking Lovely Thoughts ...

Flowers and fruits are always fit presents; flowers because they are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.... these delicate flowers look like the frolic and interference of love and beauty. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Gifts"
