Which makes sense as the kit was released in late 2010 I believe. <br /><br />It is a 3-D type ornament that uses wood and acrylic shapes and creates a bit of a shaker window on either side. <br /><br />But I love and decided to finish it. I used some positive, confirming sentiments I had from Unity Stamps because I feel like this bird represents me right now.<div> <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOOmrZLs5I_9Zpf5c4i2PSkhEUaHVZKcej_7_ZFWfXc9JCI9_e-JIcxcTU6kTDo-bGgWdYT13T-fK2v5KEwP_NlVSYAb4Raol8fbAl02MO_psADKBbQWPVjTPJS5hayN64jcKXWIBjTaRvQgxg9YP8lFBbVlWY6cIB8mJmt_qCxarIRBekeemQUnMe8Ww/s1316/1-9-24%20Bird%20OrnamentWM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; You can check it out <a href="https://theoutlawzchallenges-tuesday.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a><br /><br /><div>Our challenge this month is monochromatic. <br />I always find working with monochromatic colros to be very interesting. Sometimes I'm good with the overall way it turns out and others I struggle to not had other colors to add more interest so its a gamble when I ply with one color family.<br /><br />I generally don't use design paper, sticking with solid cardstock and inks but I'm working on using my DP and I have a bunch of Stampin Up! In color papers that I've had forever that makes it super easy to create monochromatic projects with interest.</div><div><br />Here I created a masculine sunburst card using design paper in the color mellow moss from Stampin Up!</div><div><br /></div><div>However, I feel that I could have made my strips a bit wider because I think this looks a bit more busy than I wanted but over all I'm not unhappy with it given that I don't do this card technique often.<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4wuUaTdpconptXuVQbFjQRG8hgkaccwGo1fyqAe1bNryxx3lD7QrQ7jaci6pTVyCloRAgn-MbFt7ewQVsNSWNFYtPmaqjn1yPAfcnHTpKb_yu2deHaPjyi0sP8UVuO8MI5EbLwpn06KkP5AhtOiH6zl7V9jA8lWAUJg8CsDm-JvojhPNJw9rtPR5EH6Q/s498/2-7%20Color%20CdMalmrose%20'24.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="498" data-original-width="498" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4wuUaTdpconptXuVQbFjQRG8hgkaccwGo1fyqAe1bNryxx3lD7QrQ7jaci6pTVyCloRAgn-MbFt7ewQVsNSWNFYtPmaqjn1yPAfcnHTpKb_yu2deHaPjyi0sP8UVuO8MI5EbLwpn06KkP5AhtOiH6zl7V9jA8lWAUJg8CsDm-JvojhPNJw9rtPR5EH6Q/w400-h400/2-7%20Color%20CdMalmrose%20'24.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div>Supplies (5 x 7)<br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Cardstock from The Paper Studio</li><li>Design paper from Stampin Up!</li><li>Die is unbranded</li><li>Sequins from my Stash</li><li>Stamps from Stampin Up! It heartbreaking to see these cards tossed in the trash so I like to try and re-use them to create new cards or gift tags. I hope this post inspires you to re-think ways to recycle and reuse those beautiful cards you receive, regardless of season!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I am still going through a box of old Christmas cards I received from the last several Christmas’s. I will apologize in advance; I had planned to take pictures of the card before I start dismantling it but totally spaced so I have no before pictures. I really need to get better at that!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Anyway …</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I loved this Christmas card from the moment I saw it. It was so festive and magical looking with the achromatic and foggy background and those pops of foiled red and green!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">When trying to decide if I wanted to make into Christmas tags or a card, I remembered a set of stamps I had from Echo Park that would be perfect so a card it became.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Since the card was bigger than an A2 but small that a 5 x 7 I decided to trim up and bit then cut into strips. The sentiment was then stamped onto vellum and laid over the top so you can still see the colors underneath which I think is a perfect complement to that foggy looking backdrop of the trees.</div><div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVeRKLYXFryjk89JryMPmK_2qTfY98UHfpJn4okKBL7tRfbBlB-qJtnKLiNEFIurn4b3lbc67XOWzcOyDmLN3LdAtZ9QGOKKUBBLAeGQ9EsICdvbkYjWUcM45WkdWFnh931sg-3BsKserg0N3NSak-oSSWVgGk0-kaGBPrtZPGkz5uuhBIDaW4qM_a2_c/s1838/wm1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1838" data-original-width="1838" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVeRKLYXFryjk89JryMPmK_2qTfY98UHfpJn4okKBL7tRfbBlB-qJtnKLiNEFIurn4b3lbc67XOWzcOyDmLN3LdAtZ9QGOKKUBBLAeGQ9EsICdvbkYjWUcM45WkdWFnh931sg-3BsKserg0N3NSak-oSSWVgGk0-kaGBPrtZPGkz5uuhBIDaW4qM_a2_c/w400-h400/wm1.png" width="400" /></a></div><br />Supplies <br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Christmas card</li><li>Ink from Tsukineko (VersaClaire Fine)</li><li>Rhinestones from my Stash</li><li>Sentiment stamp from Echo Park (Christmas Sentiments)</li><li>Vellum from Stampin Up!</li></ul>Thanks for stopping by! <br />(Hugs) Cara</div>Carahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05885148533104547657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1128539375687136902.post-14939161025300988322024-01-25T03:00:00.000-07:002024-01-25T03:00:00.248-07:00Sharing Christmas ...<div style="text-align: center;">Good morning,</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Sharing some fun Christmas cards that I made for two very special people.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Found these fun cards on Pinterest using different sized circles to create some interesting designs. We’ll send you the image. All you have to do is enter a card/project made with the image supplied before the challenges closes on the last day of the month and you will automatically get the next image. You can play along <a href="https://tol-nostampchallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This challenge discourages the use of any physical stamps or digital images. Exceptions will be made for digital paper and stamped or digital sentiments</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This month our challenge is something Winter/Christmas.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I made this fun fold card for a woman who has mentored and mothered me for years. She considers me her daughter and I love her very much even though she lives quite a bit of distance from me so I’ve been unable to see her in person for a long time!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">I saw this card on Pinterest and ended up watching and following a video (<a href="https://youtu.be/2QeOIyG0ue8?si=GzzmEH8KS17N7MGs" target="_blank">HERE</a>) created by Sam Calcott UK. Great video, well done, fairly easy to follow and the card us fun to make and when I sent out, I used 5 x 7 envelope without issue.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I think I like this one best.<div><br /></div><div>The flowers on the side panel were done using the stamp off technique to add depth.(Looks better IRL)</div><div><br /></div><div>I'm slowly starting to increase my selection of 6 x 6 pads for my cards as the patterns are a bit smaller and they are easier travel with. Still loving my 8 x 8 and 12 x 12 papers though. For this card I am using a new to me 6 x 6 pad called Family ties from Pebbles. I just love the designs and color combination of the set which consists of several shades of blue and green along with a love shade of yellow and brown and lends itself well to both feminine and masculine style cards.<br /><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6amNJiOPIC0Y5cYh_lcYgfxrtR0vzx7gCIhLhPDQ9CFxxv0GHhsJeoSMf4LnqBp7PjgzGzXvbfWrMcc8wr6_z_aIokbilkmgspLoWPYpV-7JbmL-kjNufYOamNAm1q290d4z1HSsTsRVieFrr7QbLlW2HoXDK6yb8EdQjKKffSockd7kNKBQrUnHt7YA/s633/WM2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="547" data-original-width="633" height="346" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6amNJiOPIC0Y5cYh_lcYgfxrtR0vzx7gCIhLhPDQ9CFxxv0GHhsJeoSMf4LnqBp7PjgzGzXvbfWrMcc8wr6_z_aIokbilkmgspLoWPYpV-7JbmL-kjNufYOamNAm1q290d4z1HSsTsRVieFrr7QbLlW2HoXDK6yb8EdQjKKffSockd7kNKBQrUnHt7YA/w400-h346/WM2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div><br /></div>Size: A2<br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Cardstock: Stampin Up!</li><li>Design Paper: Pebbles (Family Ties)</li><li>Dies: Yvonne Creations (Large flowers), Unknown (Small flowers & leaves)</li><li>Embossing folder: Stampin Up!
