About Me

I am an old born and raised Arizona Desert Rat.

Due to some unexpected life changes I had to come out of retirement and re-enter the work force so I am now working as a Buyer for a local school district.

I have three kids of which one is married and two sweet rescue mutts. I like to crochet, cross stitch, play with watercolor paint, draw, color, read, camp, spend time with my pups and family and generally be lazy.

I grew up with a mom who was always up to something crafty and encouraged me to explore the realm of creativity. I am curious by nature and learning something new has always been a big thing with me so when a friend introduced me to rubber stamping and paper crafts so many many moons ago, I fell into the rabbit hole and never crawled out!

I am the former Owner/Editor of Through the Craft Room Door Craft Magazine. I moved the blog challenge on to someone else and stopped producing the magazine in late 2019 to handle health issues with my own mom whom I lost in 2020.

Currently I am an Admin for The Outlawz Challenges and a DT for our Sketch Challenge. I also handle the DT calls and help the other teams we have when needed. I am also a colorist for Sherry West Art which is on break right now. So, I do keep pretty busy these days.

On a more general note, the cards I make are usually 5 x 7 with some exceptions or if I am making sets, in which case they are 4.25 x 5.50.

I love to work with sketches and have created several of my own which I share here on my blog.

I also do love a good fun fold type card and they can push me a bit outside of my comfort zone depending on the complexity.

I have done some scrapbooking but this is not my main focus for paper crafting.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you have found something to inspire you to create or try something new!
