Hickory Dickory Dock ...

Why do we treat the fleeting day with so much needless fear and sorrow?
It's in its nature not to stay: Today is always gone tomorrow.
~Wisława Szymborska (1923–2012), "Nothing Twice," Calling Out to Yeti (1957), translated from the Polish by Stanisław Barańczak and Clare Cavanagh
