Back to School

If there were no schools to take the children away from home part of the time, the insane asylums would be filled with mothers. ~E. W. Howe (1853–1937), Country Town Sayings: A Collection of Paragraphs from The Atchison Globe, 1911

Good morning!
Not often that I release two post in one day, but thats how it worked out for today!

This time I am sharing a card I made with a new set of images being released today by Sherry West Art!

These adorable back to school animals are so dang cute and you have your choice of quite a few different critters!

For my card I created a background using all her images, printed it out and cut to size. I even have a bit left over for a couple more cards.

I chose to use the dog, one of the cats, the pig and the dinosaur (because why not) and colored then with my ProMarkers.

I don’t have any littles in school but my Sister-in-law is an elementary teacher so I think I will send this to her since school is back in session!

The Outlawz Crash your Stash Challenge: Felt

So we find, after all, that the things we thought small
Loom colossal above all the host;
That the best of God's gifts are the friends we can call
To our side when we need them the most.
~W. Dayton Wegefarth (1885–1973), "The Bright Things of Life"

Good morning!
We have a new Crash your Stash Challenge starting at The Outlawz Challenges which will run through September 14th

Our generous Sponsor this month is Wink Wink Ink with a prize of the two images used by the team
https://www.etsy.com/shop/WinkWinkInk

Our cue this month is Felt

I think many of us have those bits and pieces of felt from past or abandoned projects.

In my case, its actually a felt with a sticker back that I bought from the dollar store, then lost somewhere in my craft room and recently found when cleaning out a random drawer.

Felt die cuts wonderfully and works well for backgrounds and elements but dollar store felt is well … dollar-ish so while it cuts great, it does not hold up so well when trying to remove the paper back to reveal the sticky so to get around that I had to stick a piece to cardstock then die cut.

But I really am pleased with how this card turned out.

Supplies:

Pre-colored Free Spirit - Horse with Butterfly printable image printed on Stampin Up! whisper white card stock
Archival ink from Ranger
Card stock from The Paper Studio (Base) and scrap bin
Design paper from scrap bin
Die from Stampin Up!
Felt from Crafters Squares (The Dollar Tree)
Sentiment from Close to My Heart
Mojosketch #546

Now come on over to The Outlawz Challenges to play along with us or one of the other challenges that are always in process!

Caffeinated ...

The fact that I'm upright is credit to our French press. ~Elementary, "Pushing Buttons," 2018, written by Jeffrey Paul King [S6, E3, Sherlock Holmes]

Good morning!
After a short break I am back on Sandra’s team as a colorist and today I am sharing a card showcasing her fun image #3634 Gnome Fairy. You can this image and many more in her ETSY SHOP.

We are a coffee drinking family (with the exception of my son, who likes the aroma but not the taste!) so this image cracked me up and I just had to color her up!

Autumn Owl

Oh how we love pumpkin season. You did know this gourd-ish squash has its own season, right? Winter, Spring, Summer, Pumpkin... We anxiously anticipate it every year. ~Trader Joe's, Fearless Flyer, October 2010

Hi All,

Today I’m sharing a remake of a twisted easel card I made several years ago.
I never passed the card on to anyone because I always had an issue with the base.

I used a design paper that looks great but is too flimsy to hold the front up nicely once the image was attached. I tried using a paper clip and that helped a bit but not enough to make me happy.

So, I cut the front piece off and created a new card. Hope you like it!
