~Terri Guillemets, "Winter heat," 2008

Cards for Little Hearts is a global card drive, comprised of crafters dedicated to bringing smiles, hope and encouragement to as many children with congenital heart disease as possible by providing heart center staff with handmade cards that are given to patients during their hospitalization.

Our Winter card drive for Cards for Little Hearts (HERE) is winding down so only a few days left to get your cards mailed in.

The current card drive ends November 1st with a need for Winter-Themed (non-religious) "Thinking of You" type cards. Please read the guideline page located on the Cards for Little Hearts' website for important guidelines prior to making and sending in your cards. You can also find additional helpful resources on the FAQs page and a Sentiments List. There is also a Gallery page if you need some inspiration. If you have any questions about the guidelines or the card drive itself, please contact Christina Hor directly (HERE), founder of Cards for Little Hearts.

I’m sharing another Winter Themed card based on Stamps to Die for Sunday Sketch SS00. I didn’t follow the sketch exactly but close enough to call it good I think.

Get well Soon ...

As a people, we have become obsessed with Health.  There is something fundamentally, radically unhealthy about all this.  We do not seem to be seeking more exuberance in living as much as staving off failure, putting off dying.  We have lost all confidence in the human body.  ~Lewis Thomas, The Medusa and the Snail, 1979

Cards for Little Hearts Winter Card Drive: Warm Wishes

Never are voices so beautiful as on a winter’s evening, when dusk almost hides the body, and they seem to issue from nothingness with a note of intimacy seldom heard by day. ~Virginia Woolf

Patches 'lil nap

To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring - it was peace.
Milan Kundera

Good Morning Crafty Peeps!
A new month and new Progressive Freebie Challenge at DigiStamps4Joy Facebook Group.

This month our image is adorable puppy! Patches 'lil nap … If you wanna play along with the rest of us you can purchase the image HERE for a discounted price to get started!

My card is on the clean and simple side this month. I had ordinally printed the image so I could do a single layer card but when I started coloring I used ProMarkers instead of my Prisma Color Pencils and well … all that lovely bleed through had me getting creatiive with a few cuts and layering up! I am also practicing coloring with shades of black ... I'm not super thrilled with how his coloring turned out as it appears I did not do a grat job blending out the black but I'll get better.

Close up of the leaves with a touch of glitter to them.

Supplies
Digi Image Patches “lil nap from DigiStamps4Joy
Card stock from The Paper Studio (base) and Stampin Up!
Glitter Glue from Studio G
India Ink from Memories
