For the Love of Music ...

Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. ~ Martin Luther

Good morning!
Today is December 1st and the start of a new Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz Challenges.

Each month we send you a free digital image to use in the Freebie/Progressive challenge. Once your creation is completed, upload it into the freebie challenge and you will automatically receive the next month free digi. We will have one image per month so you have plenty of time to create a project using the image.

If you would like to participate, please register with your name and email address to: outlawzprogressivechallenge@gmx.com

Our sponsor this month is StarzStamps with a really cute image called The Conductor.

Website ~ starinmypocket.net
Etsy Digi Shop ~ starstampz.etsy.com
Facebook Page ~ www.facebook.com/starstampz

This image is so verstaile and can be used for anything from Christmas cards to birthday cards. I decided on a masculine tone card and used a sketch I found on Pinterest. (NOTE: There is no identifer on the sketch so I don't know who made it or where it came from. If you know, please contact me so that I can give credit and a link back to the owner!)  I did decide to not add a sentiment to the front.of the card. I find I am doing that moe and more these days.

Snow Days ...

It's easy to love the snow because at the end of every snowstorm it's as if the world has started over. There is no dirt, no footprints, just a layer of seamless, indiscriminate nature connecting everything to everything else. Isn't that the amazing thing about the natural world? You can tear it down, you can drill holes in it, you can ignore its power with all your might, but one morning you wake up and it has selflessly given despite all of our abuse. I think I'll make a snowman. ~ Andrew McMahon

Autumn Leaves ..

Besides the Autumn poets sing a few prosaic days
A little this side of the snow and that side of the Haze...
Grant me, Oh Lord, a sunny mind—
Thy windy will to bear!
~Emily Dickinson

Good morning!
A new Sunday Song & Rhyme challenge is in process at The Outlawz Challenges. Each week we will give you a theme based on a song or a rhyme along with a bit of the lyrics/lines with which to take inspiration from to create a card/project! You can also look on-line to get more information about the Song/Rhyme.

Our sponsor this month is our very own Anne Fenton with a prize of 3 pre-selected digital stamps

This week’s inspiration comes from a rhyme/song selected by Me: Autumn Leaves

Golden, crisp leaves falling softly from almost bare trees,
Lifting and falling in a hushed gentle breeze,
Slowly dropping to the soft cushioned ground,
Whispering and rustling a soothing sound.

Coppers, golds, and rusted tones,
Mother Nature's way of letting go.
They fall and gather one by one,
Autumn is here, summer has gone.

Supplies for my 5 x 7 card
  • Card candy created with ¼” paper punch and Judkins Diamond glaze
  • Cardstock from The Paper Studio
  • Ink from Close to My Heart
  • Metallic papers from The Paper Temptress
  • Sentiment from Rubbernecker Rubber Stamps
  • Sketch: Case this Sketch CTS196

Winter days ...

The simplicity of winter has a deep moral. The return of Nature, after such a career of splendor and prodigality, to habits so simple and austere, is not lost either upon the head or the heart. It is the philosopher coming back from the banquet and the wine to a cup of water and a crust of bread. ~John Burroughs, "The Snow-Walkers," 1866
