Movie Time ...

Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.
~Corrie ten Boom

Good morning!

The world is a beautiful place today and I am thankful to be up and about enjoying it!
The problem with getting older is that sometimes the aches and pains make us want to stay put and not move. The bad thing is, that creates a cycle of inactivity that eventually grabs hold and won't let go ... So up and about everyone! If you need some motivation, today is the start of a new color challenge at The Outlawz!

Our Sponsor this month is Mari Digis Digital Stamp Store

Raising Sons...

You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.  And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes, even if it's just in your own eyes.
Walter M. Schirra, Sr.
Good morning Everyone!
When my kids have birthdays, like most parents I'm sure, I always reflect on who they were as children. Who they are as adults and who they will be as time goes on and life shapes them.

Today is my son's 27th birthday. And while he is far from perfect, as most of us are, he is growing into a fine young man. He has had his share of struggles growing up as everyday he must work with the challenges of Aspergers in a world where the more "Politically correct" people become, the less compassionate they become as well.

People spout how differences need to be accepted, yet those same people spurn those who are indeed different. It's a sad presentation of our society these days.

Despite it all, his father and I are proud of his accomplishments and continue to challenge him to become a better person, someone reliable and accountable... not for others but for himself.
To this end, he will become a positive contributing member of society.

Here is the 5 x 7 card I made for him ...
He loves to watch Ninja movies and we are always making jokes about them. I have had this Birdbrain Ninja image for some time. Obtained with him in mind and finally got around to using it!

Birthdays abound!

In childhood, we yearn to be grown-ups. In old age, we yearn to be kids. It just seems that all would be wonderful if we didn't have to celebrate our birthdays in chronological order. ~Robert Brault

It's Official - The Holidays are here!

October, ruddy-cheeked, comes o'er the plains,
And as with rustling step it speeds along,
Its feet beat music to the harvest song...
~Albert Laighton (1829–1887), "October," c.1859

Good morning!
It's official my friends and followers! Today is the first day of October and the Holiday Season is upon us!

I don't know about you but I am still working on Christmas cards and my husband is once again making slanderous comments about purchasing boxed cards from the local market. Good thing I love him or he would be sleeping in the garage for saying such horrid things to me!

Today is also a new month for the Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz Challenges.

Our sponsor this month is Gerda Steiner Designs with this adorable Juggling Tiger! So many ideas on how to use this cutie, but I decided on a Thank you card since I always need them

Card size is 5 x 7

Supplies
"Juggling Tiger" from Gerda Steiner Designs colored with Copics
Cardstock from The Paper Studio and Stampin Up!
Die "Scallop Squares" from Sizzix
