Crash your stash: Mulberry Paper

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.
~William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894

Good morning!
Today is the start of another fun “Crash your Stash” challenge at The Outlawz Challenges

The purpose of this Challenge is to encourage you to use those items that are no longer trending and probably stashed away in a drawer. Forgotten and alone. So, we are here to help inspire you to dig those lovely items out and bring them new life!
At the start of the challenge, we will tell you what item we want you to pull from your stash and use and you will have a whole month to find, dust off and create something lovely with the item!
That simple!
Our item for this month is Mulberry paper! I created my oval pieces by using a oval dies as a template and running a water soaked cotton swab around the edge. Then I just started pulling the excess paper off creating the slightly ragged edge.

Supplies: 5 x 7 card
  • Black Licorice Silk from Fun Stampers Journey
  • Border embossing folder from the Cuttlebug set “Chinoiserie”
  • Cardstock: The Paper Studio (base) and Stampin Up!
  • Flower from Prima Marketing
  • Love die from Gina Marie Designs
  • Mulberry paper from my stash
  • Rhinestone from my Stash
  • Sketch: Case this Sketch CTS223

Glittering Easter Eggs

The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world.  Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice.  But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.  ~Henry Knox Sherrill

Good morning!
I’m a day late with this posting but the March Progressive Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz Challenges has begun!

Each month we send you a free digital image to use in the Freebie/Progressive challenge. Once your creation is completed, upload it into the freebie challenge and you will automatically receive the next month free digi. We will have one image per month so you have plenty of time to create a project using the image.

If you would like to participate, please register with your name and email address to: outlawzprogressivechallenge@gmx.com

Our image this month comes from our very own Sandra who has created a fun Easter Egg scene for us to play with.

I love this adorable image and thought it would look fun done up in glitters, so with my basket of glitters and a bit of patience, I carefully glued and glittered away!

How fun is this! I think I may have to make up some more!

Supplies:
  • Image printed on Stampin Up! Whisper White card stock
  • Card stock (White) from The Paper Studio & (Rose) from Core’dinations
  • Glitter from The Oriental Trading Company
  • Ink from Close to My Heart
  • Rhinestones from my Stash

Whats your favorite color?

Red is a favourite colour with all the nations of the world.... Just as it gives life to the human face by making the circulation of the blood transparent, so it animates all surfaces where it appears, and enlivens all the harmonies in which it plays a part.... Occupying a place between the liveliness of light and the quiet of dark colours, red has an expression of dignity, magnificence, and pomp. ~Charles Blanc, Art in Ornament and Dress, "Personal Adornment: Colours and Their Expression," 1875, translated from French
