Cards for Little Hearts Card Drive - Heart Month

Man has made many machines, complex and cunning, but which of them indeed rivals the workings of his heart? ~Pablo Casals

Hi Everyone,
The 2018 Cards for Little Hearts "Heart-Themed" Card Drive is wrapping up. At last count well over 300 cards have been received for this card drive and that number continues to go up as the stragglers (like mine) are received by Christina.

For those of you who do not know what the premise of Cards for Little Hearts is, it is a global card drive, comprised of crafters dedicated to bringing smiles, hope and encouragement to as many children with congenital heart disease as possible by providing heart center staff with handmade cards that are given to patients during their hospitalization.

The current card drive will run from January 1st - February 1st for Heart-Themed (non-Valentine’s Day) "Thinking of You" cards to celebrate the patients during February's Heart Month. Cards will be hand delivered to heart patients at both Nationwide Children's Hospital (in Columbus, Ohio) and the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, (the Congenital Heart Collaborative in Cleveland, Ohio).

Please read the guideline page located on the Cards for Little Hearts' website for important information prior to making and sending in your cards. You can also find additional helpful resources on the FAQs page and a Sentiments List. There is also a Gallery page if you need some inspiration. If you have any questions about the guidelines or the card drive itself, please contact Christina (HERE) directly, founder of Cards for Little Hearts.

Here are pictures of more cards I made to send in.

Anyone is welcome to help make and send cards – from a young child who loves to doodle to an experienced, acclaimed card maker. Please consider participating. Even one card makes a difference!

Spring forever appears
the soothing music part

It thaws the frozen fears,
mends the wounded heart

Splinters anyone?

As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point your way. ~Author unknown, c.1948

Good morning!
Things have been quite hectic in my household these last couple of months so I thought the above quote was hilarious and appropo since here I am, once again late sharing my card for the new color challenge which started yesterday at The Outlawz Challenges!

Our sponsor this month is Fred She Said Designs

This week’s challenge gives you the choice of 3 colors from the lovely pallet below, chosen by team mate Jacqui, with a twist of adding an animal.

Because I can’t seem to keep track of my calendar I wound up not using a FSS image for my card this week. But I did used the 3 browns and added a horse. This

Supplies
  • Close to My Heart: Glitter tape, Pearls, Design paper (which already had the sentiment printed on it)
  • The Paper Studio: Card Stock

This week’s challenge uses Teal plus two colors of choice from this whimsical inspiration photo. The best part is, you get to pick you own optional twist!

For my card, I used a pre-colored image for my card this well. As much as I enjoy coloring, I have to admit having these pre-colored images on hand for fast cards is very nice!
